I am Neil Duncanson, a Pacific Northwest local who grew up not being able to sit down for very long and enjoyed being outside as much as possible. When it was time to finally come in- it was usually for a meal. Those meals were simple and filled with lots of love, whether it was a nourishing pot of black beans cooked all day over low heat made by my mother. Or something cooked over charcoal from my dad.

To many of the restaurants that I have been a part of over these last 15 plus years. Chef Bobby Moore and Joshua Delgado during our shared time at The Barking Frog, giving me all the chances to succeed and grow, mentoring me both in all aspects of hospitality. Brimmer and Heeltap where Chef Mike Wisenhunt and Chef Lieu Richie encouraged me to seek out and find my own voice through staff family meals. To Delancey and Essex where Brandon Petit allowed me that creative freedom to keep pushing and narrowing that voice through a woodfired menu. To Copal where Matt Dillon and Taber Turbin continue to allow that creativity to be foraged in the flames of the hearth and the wood oven. And to Logan Cox and Sara Knowles with their openness to the needs of others and to create such a loving restaurant filled with light, love, and laughter.
